Yahoo March 8th, 2007March 9 (Bloomberg) — Thousands of civilians fled fighting in Sri Lanka’s eastern region as the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam said the army started a new offensive and the government accused the rebels of using villagers as human shields.
