MOD September 12th, 2006Sri Lanka Navy, which was sanctioned and established on the 09th of December 1950 as Royal Ceylon Navy under the navy act No.34 of 1950, flourished and developed on laborious sweats, tears and blood shed by the naval personnel past and present to the standards it prevails today, with a formidable fleet, a flotilla and ground fighting capability.
