Sri Lanka loses bid for UN human rights panel seat (Las Vegas Sun)
Yahoo May 21st, 2008Wed, May 21, 2008 (1:27 p.m.) Sri Lanka, which has been strongly criticized for its human rights record, lost its bid Wednesday for a seat on the U.N. Human Rights Council, but four other countries with poor records won spots _ Pakistan, Bahrain, Gabon and Zambia.
