Sri Lanka loses bid for UN human rights panel seat (AP via Yahoo! News)
Yahoo May 21st, 2008Sri Lanka, which has been strongly criticized for its human rights record, lost its bid Wednesday for a seat on the U.N. Human Rights Council, but four other countries with poor records won spots — Pakistan, Bahrain, Gabon and Zambia.
