Sri Lanka journalists take to street seeking media freedom
ColomboPage January 23rd, 2007Jan 23, Colombo: Six journalists were killed, two are in custody, five were assaulted and some have fled the country fearing for their lives in Sri Lanka’s recent past, said Convenor of the Free Media Movement (FMM) Sunanda Deshpriya, addressing a rally held after a public protest by journalists in front of the Colombo Fort Railway Station this afternoon.
