President Maithripala Sirisena left for Germany this morning.

A special ceremony will be held under the patronage of German Chancellor Angela Merkel to welcome the President. He will be accorded a Guard of Honour.

President Sirisena is scheduled to visit German Parliament. He is also set to meet representatives of German Parliament. Then President is expected to hold bilateral discussions with German Foreign Minister. Another special discussion will be held between President Sirisena and German Economic Affairs Minister.

After concluding the two-day visit to Germany, President will leave for Austria on February 19.
