42 killed in Lanka clashes (Outlook India)

At least 38 Tamil Tigers and four soldiers were killed in fierce clashes in Sri Lanka's embattled northern region, officials here said today. In Mannar, 12 LTTE cadres were killed and their trench line destroyed by troops, who captured the Parappakandal area from the rebels yesterday, the army said.
